A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, knitting, cooking, hiking, kayaking, going to museums and galleries and of course traveling.

2. Why do you make art?

Creating art is so satisfying. Even in the ugly phases because it pushes me to look closely at my work, deciding what is working, what isn't and to continue to allow my inspirations to flow into my work.

3. What inspires you?

Where I live there is a vast ever changing view of water and sky out my window which is extremely inspiring. I have a large collection of flower photos that I’ve taken and I enjoy seeing what is current in the art world, so I do spend time researching artists and artworks that inspire me.

4. What/who are your influences?

Studying art had taught me techniques and the freedom to explore in my studio, trusting and allowing myself to just create either with or without a pre-determined subject in mind.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Peter Wileman, David Mankin, Bobbie Burgers, to talk about their art processes and Georgia O’Keeffe to talk about her life and strength.
